Live Coal is a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform lives and neighborhoods through art, community development, and education.
Live Coal's staff and board of directors are a group of individuals dedicated to building a vibrant and strong organization that uplifts the people of Detroit and all those who engage with our mission.
Live Coal was founded by Detroit resident and artist, Yvette Rock. Rock is the founder and CEO of Live Coal Gallery, L.L.C., a Detroit-based small business. Since the gallery was doing so much community-based work, Rock realized that creating a non-profit was the best model and structure for growing this work.
